Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information REstEasy (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. REstEasy offers free real estate calculators. You don’t need an account to use them, and we don’t ask for your name, email address or payment details.

Information we collect

• Calculator inputs. The numbers you enter (purchase price, rent, interest rate and so on) are sent to our server to compute results and returned to your browser. We don’t store them or link them to you. PDF reports are generated entirely in your browser.
• Anonymous visitor ID. On your first visit we set a first-party cookie named re_uid containing a random identifier. It lasts up to two years and lets us count returning visitors without knowing who you are.
• Usage events. We record a small number of events — for example that a calculator page was viewed, which calculator tab was opened, or that a PDF report was downloaded — together with the anonymous ID and a timestamp. These events don’t include the numbers you enter.
• Analytics and performance. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, referring sites, country, device type) and page performance. These tools don’t use cookies to track you across websites.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically processes technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver and secure the site.

How we use information

• To run the calculators and return results.
• To understand which calculators and pages are useful so we can improve them.
• To monitor performance, fix errors and protect the site from abuse.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except with the service providers listed below.

Service providers

• Vercel Inc. — hosting, server logs, Web Analytics and Speed Insights. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Advertising

We don’t currently show ads. If we add advertising in the future (for example through Google AdSense), third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. We will update this policy before that happens, including how to opt out of personalized advertising.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators will keep working without the re_uid cookie; we simply won’t be able to recognize repeat visits.

Data retention

Usage events and server logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider retains them, currently a short period of hours to days. Aggregate analytics may be kept longer. Calculator inputs are not retained.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it is processed. Because we don’t collect names or contact details, we usually can’t identify you from the data we hold, but we’ll help where we can. Contact us at the address below.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
